Caroline Kole, Discovered by The Dray, Opens for Reba Concert

Country Singer Caroline Kole

Caroline Kole is currently touring with Reba McEntire, opening the concert, and on her way to becoming a country music star. Reba introduces Caroline by saying, “You will hear a great deal about this young girl.” I knew when I met 12 year old “Suite” Caroline, an unknown country singer, that she had all the makings to be a success.

The already successful career of Caroline, now 15, began when my college roommate came to L.A. with a folder full of local articles and a CD of one of her middle school students who called herself “Suite” Caroline. It turned out that she chose to use “Suite” because my show, “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” was her favorite! How random was that! I put in the CD and wow! No… more like a huge WOW! I was florred. Caroline and her family were planning a trip out to LA from Florida and wanted to know if I would meet with them.  Of course I said yes.

She came to my Suite Life office and, with her guitar, played a couple of songs that she wrote.  I then fell off my chair as I was blown away! And of course, Suite Caroline was equally thrilled to be playing for the Executive Producer of her favorite show!

The family was on their way to visit Nashville, so I made a call to William Morris Endeavor in L.A. The L.A. agent trusted me that whenever I called, it’s because I had something special. They called their counterpart in Nashville who agreed to meet Caroline and her mom upon arrival, based on my recommendation. Of course, the Nashville agent saw exactly what I saw… PURE TALENT and signed Caroline, even though she did not have an album out yet, which is rare.

I ran into Reba McEntire and her manager husband Narvel Blackstock while doing errands and spoke to Reba about guest starring in “The Suite Life on Deck” to play Bailey’s (Debby Ryan’s) mom. She was very interested and asked me to call Narvel in the office to check her availability. Unfortunately, she would be touring and not able to do the show.

In the meantime, Caroline sent me a new song that she wrote that blew my mind and I sent it to Narvel.  He flipped over Caroline and her song and said to me, “This is a massive hit!”  Narvel agreed with The Dray… I knew I had discovered a country star! I worked with Caroline on her acting skills and along with her amazing singing and songwriting talent, I was 100% positive she was on her way!

Narvel Blackstock signed Caroline Kole to be a client, the family moved to Nashville and my “Suite” Caroline has been opening concerts for Blake Shelton, Martina McBride and now Reba! Her voice, her stage presence, her musicality and songwriting make me proud and honored to have led her to the right agent and manager to present Caroline Kole to the country music world.

Work hard, be prepared, be focused and maybe The Dray will make ‘that call’ and you too will be one of my Dray Kids.

I had the pleasure of being Caroline’s fifth grade teacher in Florida! I still call her SC – obviously short for, at the time, Suite Caroline! She is as talented a student as she is a songwriter/singer.

She was writing and singing and performing even at the age of 10! One of her first concerts I went to was at the Best Buy store! Not a big crowd that day, but oh how things have changed!

My wife and I got to hear her sing at the Hardrock Nashville! I taught her sister Ellie in fifth grade too! It was awesome to see her on stage again and to enjoy seeing my fifth grader all grown up!

Thanks for listening to a very proud teacher go on and on! And thanks for directing her in the right path!
